93-year-old Langley war veteren helps other seniors get out and about

A 93-year-old Langley war veteran, Cliff Steel, has been profiled in the Langley Times on the wonderful work he’s been doing fixing and refurbishing scooters and electric wheelchairs for people in need. Steel has just joined with the United Way to try to provide even more scooters and wheelchairs as word gets out about this selfless senior and his work getting seniors in need out and about in their community.

An elegant evening of fashion and fundraising.

On February 28, United Way’s Women United in Philanthropy celebrated Leone’s 25th anniversary with an evening of fashion and fundraising. Money raised from the event will fund programs through United Way’s Success By 6 initiative, which helps ensure vulnerable children throughout the Lower Mainland enter kindergarten ready to succeed.
