Vancouver law firm Alexander Holburn Beaudin & Lang LLP successfully used several fun and unusual approaches recently to raise funds for United Way of the Lower Mainland.
The firm has been a proud sponsor of United Way for the past two decades, and aimed to raise $30,000 in 2011 for United Way of the
Lower Mainland's 500 plus programs in support of vulnerable children and seniors throughout the region.
Over the two week pledge campaign, lawyers and staff of the law firm organized a bake sale, e-bingo, anonymous flower delivery, a poker tournament, Jeans Day and the very successful “Partner Pie Toss” where partners lent their faces for the cause.
To raise the stakes even higher, Managing Partner David Garner announced his willingness to shear off his infamous “pony tail” if law firm members contributed a further $10,000 in the last minutes of the pledge drive.
That one snip raised an additional $10,924, making Alexander Holburn’s grand total $33,218.77, surpassing their goal!
Thank you Alexander Holburn Beaudin and Lang!
