Important milestone reached in United Way's Better at Home program

Today, United way is announcing a significant step forward in its Better at Home program – which will provide simple, non-medical home support services such as housekeeping, grocery shopping, home visits, yard work, home repair, snow removal and transportation to appointments, allowing seniors to live in their own homes for longer, surrounded by friends, family and familiar neighbours.

United Way has identified the first 18 sites that will potentially be part of the 60 Better at Home service sites to be rolled out across BC: Quesnel, Esquimalt, Cowichan, Langley, New Westminster, Vancouver (West End), Kamloops, Sechelt, Parksville, Abbotsford, Tri-Cities, Surrey, Richmond, North Shore, Penticton, Port Hardy, Williams Lake and Cranbrook.

Visit the Better at Home website for more information, details on how the program will be rolled out and the criteria for site selection.
