Make a difference

Want to make a difference in the lives of children and seniors in the Lower Mainland? Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the United Way of the Lower Mainland. A community’s success depends on the people who live in it. And United Way needs great people to make a difference in our communities.

Join United Way and thousands of volunteers to help strengthen our community’s capacity to address social issues. Below are some of the volunteer opportunities available.

Volunteer with United Way

If you are interested in volunteering directly for United Way, we have several opportunities:

Help Children and Seniors

United Way funds many non-profits agencies that deliver hands-on programs to children and seniors across the Lower Mainland.

If you are interested in volunteering to help move families from poverty to possibility, help kids be all they can be, and build stronger communities for seniors, here are some ways to find a role that is right for you.

Search www.govolunteer.ca. This is the best website in the Lower Mainland for anyone seeking volunteer opportunities and it is partially funded by United Way. Search for role type and by city, foor example, seniors care, Surrey.

If you are looking for more help to find the right match, United Way funds several volunteer centers that are dedicated to helping match people with the right volunteer opportunity:

Union Counselling Program

The CLC United Way Union Counselling program is a cornerstone of the Labour and United Way Partnership that has been in place for over 30 years. The program is prevention based with a goal of helping union members in the workplace.

Please refer to the CLC United Way Union Counselling Brochure for more details.
