A community of donors has rallied together to help vulnerable people throughout Metro Vancouver.
United Way of the Lower Mainland’s annual fundraising campaign, to provide hope and opportunity for children and seniors, received a multi-million dollar boost from a group of individuals, foundations and organizations that donated $3.2 million in matching pool funds.
The money matched 100% of all new gifts to United Way as well as matching the increased portion of a gift raised by 15% or more over last year. The total pool of gifts generated a combined $6.4 million.
The Philanthropists’ Circle included Dorothy and Carl Ruby Charitable Foundation, Goldcorp Inc., Bob and Lily Lee, Morris and Helen Belkin Foundation, Ronald and Janet Stern, Teck Resources Ltd., The Joseph Segal Family Foundation, Mary C. Jordan, Bob and Sheila Ross, Milan & Maureen Ilich Foundation, Blake and Megan Hanna, Don M. Enns, Don and Jeri Krogseth, Donna and Bruce Aitken, Fred Withers and Dr. Kathy Jones, Glenn and Katherine Ives, John and Susan Webster, Kevin Layden and Kristy Brinkley, Lindsay Hall, Odlum Brown Limited, ParkLane Homes Ltd., Rudy and Elizabeth Kerklaan, William and Carol Slater, Yuri Fulmer, and two anonymous donors.
