United Way’s Women United in Philanthropy helps to ensure our community's most vulnerable children enter kindergarten ready to succeed in school. By bringing together the skills, knowledge, compassion and financial resources of women, we are helping improve the lives of children in the Lower Mainland.
A staggering number, nearly 30% of children entering kindergarten in the Lower Mainland are not developmentally ready for school. They lack critical language, social, and cognitive skills needed for success. As a result, these vulnerable children may never catch up to their peers, and can be adversely affected throughout their lives.
Donations raised by Women United in Philanthropy go towards programs that help parents and caregivers access the information and support services they need to nurture their children.
