Community investment plan
At United Way, we work to ensure children grow up with hope for the future, families feel a sense of belonging in their community, and that our neighbourhoods are safe and supportive places for everyone, no matter where you live, or where you’re from.
United Way of the Lower Mainland’s Community Investment Plan acts as a roadmap for positive change. We make smart community investments based on strategic thinking and groundbreaking research to achieve results. We use our collective strength to multiply our impact and maximize our donors’ dollars.
Approximately 40% of people living in Metro Vancouver were born outside of the country; all of our funded programs serve and reflect our diverse population.
We look forward to the future because we know that when we work together, there are no limits to what we can achieve.
Community Schools Initiative
Imagine schools as safe, caring centres of communities, not just during class hours, but in the evenings and on weekends too. Because of people like you, United Way supports community schools in Burnaby, Coquitlam, Delta, New Westminster, Surrey and Vancouver, opening up a world of possibility for tens of thousands of children.
