1600 Syrian government assisted refugees have now settled in the Lower Mainland. 60% are under the age of 18.
Help us raise $500,000 to lift these families out of despair and offer hope for a new year and a new life. Together, we can welcome them to the place we are so proud to call home, help them become accustomed to a new language and culture, and ensure their children get the best start in life.
Make a donation today.
A donation from you today will help refugees of the Syrian crisis build a better life. Their children will have the opportunity to reach their potential, and with your support, their families and our families will thrive together.
United. We are community.
How we are helping Syrian refugees.
United Way supports community agencies offering programs directly focused on getting refugees settled, helping them learn a new language and finding work. We invest in these organizations so they have the ability – the staff and the knowledge – to help when it’s needed most.
Funds raised through this appeal
As a result of this fundraising appeal, United Way is investing in two mental health and trauma support programs that will be available to Syrian refugees later this spring as well as a drop-in program for young Syrian children through Diversecity's Early Years Refugee Program.
